Mối quan hệ với sinh viên quốc tế có thể mang lại lợi ích cho giáo dục đại học về mặt tài chính và nguồn nhân lực. Chính vì lý do này, việc thiết lập và duy trì mối quan hệ như vậy thường là mối quan tâm hàng đầu của các nhà cung cấp giáo dục đại học. Trong nghiên cứu này, chúng tôi đã mở rộng ứng dụng của mô hình bất xác nhận-hy vọng bằng cách kết hợp ba thành phần từ giá trị nhiệm vụ chủ quan (tức là, đạt được, hữu ích, và nội tại) để dự đoán lòng trung thành của sinh viên quốc tế đối với các quốc gia tiếp nhận. Trên một mẫu gồm 410 sinh viên Việt Nam đang theo học tại các cơ sở giáo dục đại học ở hơn 15 quốc gia trên toàn cầu, chúng tôi đã sử dụng mô hình phương trình cấu trúc để xác thực mô hình khái niệm. Các phát hiện thực nghiệm của chúng tôi cho thấy sự hài lòng và bất xác nhận vẫn đóng vai trò quan trọng như các yếu tố trực tiếp và gián tiếp dẫn đến lòng trung thành của sinh viên quốc tế, tuy nhiên, yếu tố dự đoán có tác động lớn nhất là giá trị nội tại, ảnh hưởng trực tiếp và gián tiếp đến lòng trung thành thông qua vai trò trung gian của sự hài lòng và bất xác nhận. Trong khi đó, các phát hiện của chúng tôi cũng chỉ ra rằng giá trị đạt được có tác động nhẹ, nhưng giá trị hữu ích không có bất kỳ tác động nào đến lòng trung thành. Một số hệ quả có thể được rút ra cho các lãnh đạo trường đại học và các nhà làm chính sách khi thực hiện quốc tế hóa giáo dục đại học như là hệ quả của những kết quả trên.
