Testicular parameters, parenchymal spermatid concentration, and epididymal sperm reserves were measured in tracts obtained from 16 Awassi rams classified into three age groups (1, 1�5 and 2�5 years old). Between 1 and 2�5 years of age the paired testis weight increased from 164�9 to 315�2 g, the testicular spermatid number (x 109 ) increased from 15�9 to 55�8, and the total epididymal sperm reserves (x 109) increased from 11�1 to 98�8.
