Tóm tắt
The crystal structures of (C6H4O2)2PR with two chelating catechol residues and R = F (1) and CH3 (2), respectively, at a phosphorus atom were determined. The observed geometry at this atom is between a trigonal bipyramid and a tetragonal pyramid in 1 and close to a tetragonal pyramid in 2. These results are discussed in the light of existing knowledge and theories on five-coordination of phosphorus.
