A common example being the outsourcing of the management of a company's B-2-B marketing database. Typical considerations that apply when companies are thinking about outsourcing this function are described in the paper entitled ‘Outsourcing your marketing database. A “Request for Information” is the First Step’ by Ruth Stevens dated March 2006 which is available at http://www.ruthstevens.com/case_histories.html .
The Report entitled ‘What Database Marketers Think About Outsourcing’ by Eric Schmitt dated 28th September 2004 published by US firm Forrester Research suggested that the functions most commonly outsourced by database marketers were data procurement, hygiene and creative functions.
