Robotic surgery: at the cutting edge of technology
Tóm tắt
Robotic surgery is relatively new, and fundamental concepts are still being formulated. Various medical robotics and computer aided surgery projects have been undertaken at Imperial College over the last 10 years, many of which have been clinically applied. One conclusion, that has resulted, is that there is much benefit to be gained from the use of a force controlled lever on the end of the robot, that is held by the surgeon as an input control system. This leads to improved levels of safety as well as clarifying that the surgeon is in charge of the procedure. A number of examples of medical robotics research are given in the presentation.
