Vì tình trạng đông máu nội mạch phân tán cấp tính (DIC) thường góp phần dẫn đến kết cục tử vong ở bệnh nhân lupus ban đỏ hệ thống (SLE), việc dự đoán sự phát triển của nó là rất quan trọng để ngăn ngừa xảy ra sự kiện này. Để phân tích các yếu tố rủi ro góp phần vào sự phát triển của DIC cấp tính ở SLE, chúng tôi đã thực hiện một nghiên cứu hồi cứu trên một loạt 129 bệnh nhân SLE, trong đó có tám bệnh nhân phát triển DIC trong quá trình mắc bệnh này, nhằm đánh giá các tham số có thể đánh giá dễ dàng, có mặt tại thời điểm khám bệnh đầu tiên, có ý nghĩa dự đoán nào. Các biến cá nhân quan trọng, được xác định bởi phân tích đơn biến, là giới tính nam, giảm bạch cầu và nhiễm trùng. Các yếu tố này đã được đưa vào một mô hình hồi quy logistic đa biến, và chỉ có một yếu tố, nhiễm trùng tại lần khám đầu tiên, được tìm thấy có ý nghĩa dự đoán cho sự phát triển của DIC cấp tính ở bệnh nhân SLE. Việc ngăn chặn và kiểm soát nhiễm trùng ở bệnh nhân SLE có thể có những ảnh hưởng trong việc ngăn ngừa sự phát triển của DIC cấp tính.
