Năm mươi phần trăm cây Arabidopsis thaliana chuyển gen kháng hygromycin không truyền đạt được kiểu hình kháng cho thế hệ sau. Tuy nhiên, toàn bộ gen chuyển giao vẫn được di truyền theo quy luật Mendel trong tất cả các trường hợp như quan sát qua phân tích Southern.
