Reconstruction algorithm for single circular orbit cone beam scans

Tóm tắt
With the recent introduction of multi-slice CT (MCT) many reconstruction algorithms have been proposed. These algorithms take advantage of the available conjugate samples in the multi-slice configuration and estimate a set of projections at the predefined plane-of-reconstruction (POR). In many clinical applications, however, the step-and-shoot scan mode becomes increasingly important. For these applications, the data acquisition is inherently incomplete due to the single circular source trajectory. In addition, the volume of reconstruction is limited to the smallest regions inside the commonly irradiated volume. In this paper, we present a scheme that allows the reconstructed volume to increase to the axial extent of the cone beam geometry at the iso-center. For a typical scanning geometry, this nearly doubles the volume coverage.
