Nghiên cứu này là một sự tổng hợp của các nghiên cứu dân tộc học được thực hiện trong các lớp học đa văn hóa và liên dân tộc ở cả Bắc Mỹ và Úc. Nó thiết lập chín khẳng định về việc giảng dạy phù hợp với văn hóa trong các bối cảnh như vậy. Nghiên cứu lập luận rằng cả những hiểu biết và thực hành trong lớp học được bao gồm trong các khẳng định này cung cấp cho giáo viên các điểm khởi đầu tiềm năng, được thông báo bởi thực tiễn tốt nhất hiện tại, cho praxis – tự phản ánh về các thực hành của chính họ trong khuôn khổ của nền dân chủ tham gia cho tất cả mọi người.
