Glycoprotein bao ngoài của virus chikungunya (CHIKV) được coi là mục tiêu tiềm năng quan trọng cho việc khám phá thuốc chống CHIKV do vai trò thiết yếu của chúng trong việc virus bám dính và xâm nhập. Trong nghiên cứu này, sử dụng hai cấu trúc tinh thể đã có của các dạng glycoprotein bao ngoài chưa trưởng thành và trưởng thành, các cuộc sàng lọc ảo dựa trên các dock vô tình và dock tập trung đã được thực hiện để xác định các pocket liên kết tiềm năng và các hợp chất có khả năng tác động lên virus. Cơ sở dữ liệu thư viện hóa học của các hợp chất, NCI Diversity Set II, đã được sử dụng trong các nghiên cứu dock này. Ngoài việc tái tạo các ví dụ đã được báo cáo trước đó, các pocket liên kết mới đã được xác định, ví dụ, Pocket 2 trong 3N40 và Pocket 2 cũng như Pocket 3 trong 3N42. Sự hội tụ trong việc lấy mẫu cấu hình trong docking bằng AutoDock Vina đã được đánh giá. Phân tích kết quả docking đã được thực hiện để hiểu các tương tác của các phức hợp glycoprotein bao ngoài. Một số dư chất chính cho các tương tác, chẳng hạn như Gly91 và His230, đã được xác định là có vai trò quan trọng trong quá trình hợp nhất.
