Vỡ khối u và di căn phổi ở bệnh nhân mắc bệnh ung thư tế bào gan có liên quan đến tiên lượng kém và các chiến lược điều trị vẫn còn gây tranh cãi. Trong nghiên cứu này, chúng tôi báo cáo một bệnh nhân nam 50 tuổi sống trên 90 tháng sau khi trải qua một ca cắt bỏ thùy phải mở rộng để điều trị ung thư tế bào gan vỡ và sau đó là các phẫu thuật cắt bỏ lặp lại cho di căn phổi trong thời gian theo dõi.
