Nghiên cứu này xem xét các tương tác giữa các biện pháp môi trường và an toàn trong giao thông đường bộ. Các tác động về an toàn giao thông của nhiều biện pháp nhắm vào các vấn đề môi trường liên quan đến giao thông đường bộ và các tác động môi trường của nhiều biện pháp an toàn giao thông đã được xem xét. Kết quả cho thấy một số lượng lớn các biện pháp được xem xét hỗ trợ cả hai mục tiêu chính sách và do đó đóng góp hiệu quả cho giao thông bền vững. Tuy nhiên, cũng có những biện pháp có tác động mâu thuẫn, mặc dù số lượng các biện pháp này là có hạn. Ngoài ra, còn có nhiều biện pháp không có tương tác.
