Bài báo này mô tả quá trình khảo sát Nghiên cứu Sức khỏe và Phúc lợi Tăng cường tại Trường Mầm non (DAGIS) cùng với sự khác biệt về tình trạng kinh tế xã hội (SES) trong hành vi liên quan đến cân bằng năng lượng (EBRBs) của trẻ, nghĩa là những hành vi liên quan đến hoạt động thể chất, sự ít vận động và chế độ ăn uống, và căng thẳng dài hạn là cơ sở cho việc phát triển can thiệp. Một cuộc khảo sát cắt ngang đã được tiến hành trong giai đoạn 2015-2016 tại 66 trường mầm non ở Phần Lan thuộc tám cộng đồng, liên quan đến 864 trẻ em (3-6 tuổi). Cha mẹ, nhân viên mầm non và hiệu trưởng đã đánh giá các yếu tố môi trường tại nhà và trường mầm non bằng các bảng câu hỏi. Việc đo lường EBRBs của trẻ bao gồm các nhật ký thực phẩm ba ngày, bảng câu hỏi tần suất thực phẩm (FFQ), dữ liệu gia tốc kế bảy ngày, và nhật ký hành vi ít vận động bảy ngày. Căng thẳng dài hạn của trẻ em được đo bằng nồng độ cortisol tóc. Trình độ học vấn của cha mẹ (PEL) đã được sử dụng làm chỉ số SES. Trẻ em có PEL thấp có thời gian xem màn hình nhiều hơn, thường xuyên tiêu thụ đồ uống có đường và tiêu thụ rau xà lách, trái cây và quả mọng (VFB) ít hơn so với những trẻ có PEL cao. Trẻ em có PEL trung bình có nguy cơ tiêu thụ thực phẩm có đường hàng ngày cao hơn so với trẻ có PEL cao. Không có sự khác biệt PEL nào được tìm thấy trong hoạt động thể chất, thời gian ít vận động hoặc căng thẳng dài hạn của trẻ em. Can thiệp DAGIS, nhắm đến việc giảm sự khác biệt SES trong các hành vi EBRB của trẻ mầm non, cần tập trung đặc biệt vào thời gian xem màn hình và việc tiêu thụ thực phẩm và đồ uống có đường, cũng như VFB.
