Mục đích của nghiên cứu hiện tại là khám phá ảnh hưởng của một phương pháp giảng dạy sử dụng Công nghệ Thông tin và Giao tiếp (CNTT) và dựa trên các mức độ tư duy hình học của Van Hiele cùng với các kỹ năng của Hoffer mô tả chúng, nhằm giảng dạy bảng chữ cái tiếng Anh. Mẫu của nghiên cứu hiện tại bao gồm các học sinh Hy Lạp đang theo học lớp hai tiểu học. Mẫu được chia thành hai nhóm, một nhóm đối chứng và một nhóm thí nghiệm. Nhóm đối chứng được giảng dạy theo chương trình học do Bộ Giáo dục và Tôn giáo Hy Lạp cung cấp. Nhóm thí nghiệm được giảng dạy thông qua một can thiệp dựa trên các nguyên tắc của Học tập kết hợp. Can thiệp được dựa trên cấp độ đầu tiên của lý thuyết Van Hiele và cụ thể hơn là các kỹ năng của Hoffer mô tả cấp độ này. Mỗi học sinh được đánh giá về trí thông minh phi ngôn ngữ trước khi can thiệp. Tương tự, một đánh giá điều chỉnh đã được sử dụng trước và sau can thiệp để đánh giá khả năng nhận diện các chữ cái mục tiêu. Kết quả của nghiên cứu cho thấy ảnh hưởng có ý nghĩa thống kê của can thiệp lên việc học của học sinh liên quan đến các chữ cái tiếng Anh, có sự khác biệt theo kỹ năng của học sinh, điều này có thể được quy cho nhiều yếu tố khác nhau.
