Việc phát thải kháng sinh vào môi trường thủy sinh đã trở thành một vấn đề sức khỏe cộng đồng toàn cầu khi xử lý nước thải chứa kháng sinh. Khả năng của pin vi sinh vật (MFC) trong việc thu năng lượng từ chất thải hữu cơ và sinh khối tái tạo đang thu hút sự quan tâm ngày càng tăng trong việc xử lý nước thải. Trong bài báo này, chúng tôi đã điều tra phản ứng sinh điện hóa của một lớp biofilm hỗn hợp vi sinh vật điện hoạt trong MFC đối với các nồng độ tobramycin khác nhau. Các lớp biofilm điện hoạt cho thấy mức độ bền vững cao đối với tobramycin ở mức μg/L. Phản ứng sinh ra dòng điện của các lớp biofilm bị ảnh hưởng bởi sự hiện diện của tobramycin. Tỷ lệ ức chế của MFC tăng theo cấp số nhân với các nồng độ tobramycin trong khoảng 0,1-1,9 g/L. Các cộng đồng vi khuẩn của các lớp biofilm thay đổi theo nồng độ tobramycin, trong đó sự cân bằng là rất quan trọng cho sự ổn định của các lớp biofilm dựa trên MFC. Kết quả thí nghiệm cho thấy rằng MFC dựa trên lớp biofilm điện hoạt là bền vững trước kháng sinh ở mức μg/L, nhưng nhạy cảm với các biến đổi trong nồng độ kháng sinh ở mức g/L. Những kết quả này có thể cung cấp thông tin quan trọng về tác động của kháng sinh đối với hiệu suất của MFC như một công nghệ xử lý chất thải.
