Băng kinesiology (KT) thường được sử dụng như một liệu pháp vật lý để ngăn ngừa mệt mỏi do tập thể dục gây ra. Nghiên cứu này nhằm đánh giá các tác động ngay lập tức của KT lên sức mạnh cơ bắp, thăng bằng tĩnh và cảm nhận vị trí sau khi mệt cơ đồng tâm ở mắt cá chân. Hai mươi sinh viên nam khỏe mạnh đã được tuyển chọn. Giai đoạn thử nghiệm được cấu trúc thành bốn phiên, mỗi phiên cách nhau một tuần để ngăn ngừa các tác động carryover. Các tham gia viên được phân bổ ngẫu nhiên vào một trong bốn điều kiện can thiệp trong mỗi phiên, đảm bảo rằng không có tham gia viên nào nhận cùng một can thiệp hai lần. Các điều kiện này gồm: không băng (NT), băng giả (ST), băng thể thao (AT), và băng kinesiology (KT). Băng được áp dụng ngay sau khi thực hiện một giao thức mệt mỏi cơ đồng tâm tập trung vào mắt cá chân, và các đánh giá được tiến hành theo thứ tự cảm nhận vị trí, sức mạnh cơ bắp và thăng bằng tĩnh. Sức mạnh cơ đồng hóa và cảm nhận vị trí được đánh giá bằng hệ thống đồng hóa Biodex. Thăng bằng tĩnh được đo bằng nền tảng thăng bằng TecnoBody. KT có độ mô men tối đa ở dạng xoay lật/duỗi chân cao hơn rõ rệt, mô men trung bình ở dạng duỗi chân và sức mạnh trung bình ở 60°/s so với NT và ST về sức mạnh cơ đồng hóa (p < 0.05). Hơn nữa, mô men tối đa ở dạng duỗi chân của KT cao hơn rõ rệt so với AT ở 60°/s [p = 0.005, khoảng tin cậy 95% (CI) = 3.39 đến 18.20] và 180°/s [p = 0.006, 95% CI (2.62, 21.98)]. Về cảm nhận vị trí, KT cho thấy sai số tuyệt đối thấp hơn ở 25° duỗi chân và 10° xoay lật so với NT, ST và AT. Đối với thăng bằng tĩnh trong điều kiện mắt mở và mắt nhắm, AT và KT có tổng diện tích lay động thấp hơn so với NT và ST (p < 0.05). Nghiên cứu này cho thấy KT hiệu quả hơn các điều kiện băng khác trong việc cải thiện sức mạnh cơ bắp và cảm nhận vị trí sau khi mệt cơ đồng tâm ở mắt cá chân. Tuy nhiên, AT hữu ích hơn trong việc tăng cường khả năng kiểm soát tư thế tĩnh sau khi mệt mỏi cơ ở mắt cá chân so với KT.
