Đây là phiên bản cập nhật thứ hai của hướng dẫn của Hiệp hội Phục hồi Nâng cao sau Phẫu thuật (ERAS®), trình bày sự đồng thuận về chăm sóc tối ưu trong giai đoạn xung quanh ca phẫu thuật thắt lưng và đưa ra các khuyến nghị cho từng mục trong quy trình ERAS®. Một tìm kiếm tài liệu chính đã được thực hiện sử dụng các cơ sở dữ liệu Pubmed, EMBASE, Cochrane và ClinicalTrials.gov cho đến tháng 12 năm 2020, với sự chú ý đặc biệt đến các phân tích tổng hợp, thử nghiệm ngẫu nhiên có đối chứng và các nghiên cứu đoàn hệ lớn và có triển vọng. Các nghiên cứu được chọn lọc đã được kiểm tra, đánh giá và xếp loại theo hệ thống Đánh giá Khuyến nghị, Đánh giá, Phát triển và Đánh giá (GRADE). Sau khi đánh giá kỹ lưỡng các nghiên cứu này, nhóm tác giả đã đạt được sự đồng thuận về các khuyến nghị. Chất lượng bằng chứng cho nhiều can thiệp ERAS vẫn tương đối thấp trong môi trường phẫu thuật thắt lưng và các thực hành dựa trên bằng chứng có thể cần được suy diễn từ các phẫu thuật khác. Một sự đồng thuận dựa trên bằng chứng đầy đủ và cập nhật đã được đạt được và được trình bày trong bài đánh giá này bởi Hiệp hội ERAS®.
