The horizontal stream 9 of exhaust gases coming from the gas turbine, which flows out of the lateral openings 3 and 4 for torque compensation, is used for driving an additional small turbine connected to an airscrew 8 with horizontal axis by the gearing 5. The deflector vanes 6, 7 are opened by control means when the aircraft has reached a certain forward velocity.
