Tóm tắt

Hầu hết các ca bệnh đậu mùa khỉ ở người được báo cáo xảy ra ở Trung và Tây Phi, nơi virus gây bệnh là bản địa. Chúng tôi mô tả việc xác định và phản ứng của y tế công cộng đối với một ca bệnh đậu mùa khỉ Tây Phi được nhập khẩu từ Nigeria đến Vương quốc Anh (UK) vào tháng 5 năm 2021. Việc lây truyền thứ cấp từ ca bệnh chỉ điểm đã xảy ra trong gia đình đến một người lớn khác và một trẻ nhỏ. Các biện pháp kiểm soát liên quan đến COVID-19 được thực hiện ngay khi nhập cảnh và tại bệnh viện đã giúp phát hiện và hạn chế số lượng tiếp xúc tiềm tàng.
