Abstract
Reactions of Group 4–6 metal halides with 2,6-dimethylphenoxy(trimethyl)silane in THF afford pure compounds of type MX1[O-2,6-(CH3)2C6H3]m(THF)n(M = Ti, Zr, Hf with l = 3, m = 1, n = 2 or l = 2, m = 2, n = 2; M = Nb, l = 4, m = 1, n = 1 or l = 3, m = 2, n = 1; M = W, l = 5, m = 1, n = 0 or l = 4, m = 2, n = 0) in >75% yields. Geometries of TiCl2[O-2,6-(CH3)2C6H3]2(THF)2 and NbCl3[O-2,6-(CH3)2C6H3]2(THF) were determined by the X-Ray diffraction method.
