Việc mang lại lợi ích từ ERP II là một thách thức và mục tiêu của bài báo này là điều tra việc phân bổ nguồn lực đóng góp vào việc hiện thực hóa lợi ích.
Một nghiên cứu trường hợp đã được thực hiện dựa trên một thời gian thực tập năm tháng trong nhóm dự án của một tổ chức triển khai ERP II. Một mô hình phân pha các yếu tố thành công chính (CSF) đã được phát triển để phân loại các nguồn lực đã đầu tư. Quan sát tham gia đã hình thành giai đoạn đầu tiên của nghiên cứu và hai năm sau khi triển khai, các quan sát đã được trình bày lại cho bốn thành viên chính của nhóm dự án để xác định các nguồn lực đã đầu tư nào đã góp phần vào việc hiện thực hóa lợi ích. Sau đó, các phát hiện đã được trình bày cho bảy tổ chức cung cấp để xác thực các CSF cần thiết để mang lại lợi ích từ việc triển khai ERP II.
