Giảm thiểu tổn thương mô phúc mạc trong quá trình phẫu thuật ổ bụng có lợi cho việc giảm phản ứng viêm sau phẫu thuật, giảm đau và hình thành dính. Phẫu thuật siêu âm dường như giảm thiểu tổn thương mô. Nghiên cứu này nhằm so sánh cắt điện và phẫu thuật siêu âm về thiếu máu mô phúc mạc được đo lường bằng vi thẩm phân. Trong nghiên cứu này, 18 con chuột Wistar đã trải qua phẫu thuật laparotomy trung gian và được cấy một catheter vi thẩm phân phúc mạc ở bờ bên trái. Các động vật được phân ngẫu nhiên để nhận hai đường mổ phúc mạc tiêu chuẩn song song với catheter bằng cách sử dụng cắt điện hoặc phẫu thuật siêu âm. Sau phẫu thuật, các mẫu dịch vi thẩm phân được lấy mỗi 2 giờ cho đến 72 giờ sau phẫu thuật để đo lường pyruvate, lactate, glucose và glycerol, và các tỷ lệ được tính toán.
