Mục đích của nghiên cứu này là mô tả lý do và tình trạng của việc bổ sung chế độ ăn n-3 và n-6 axit béo ở những bệnh nhân mắc bệnh viêm. Tài liệu gần đây nhất được xem xét với trọng tâm là viêm khớp dạng thấp (RA), vì hầu hết các nghiên cứu đã mô tả việc sử dụng bổ sung n-3 trong loại bệnh này.
