Viêm âm đạo do vi khuẩn là một rối loạn phổ biến ở đường sinh dục. Nó có thể dẫn đến sinh non, nhưng sự đóng góp của nó vẫn chưa rõ ràng. Viêm âm đạo do vi khuẩn có thể điều trị được và nếu được chẩn đoán và điều trị phù hợp, có thể giảm thiểu nguy cơ sinh non. Nghiên cứu này nhằm xác nhận mối liên hệ giữa viêm âm đạo do vi khuẩn và sinh non. Đây là một phân tích tổng hợp. Chúng tôi đã bao gồm các bài báo được công bố từ năm 2008 đến năm 2022. Các tác giả đã chọn các nghiên cứu đo lường mối liên hệ giữa viêm âm đạo do vi khuẩn và sinh non thông qua tỷ lệ rủi ro/tỷ lệ rủi ro (RR) hoặc tỷ lệ odds (OR). Chúng tôi đã loại trừ các nghiên cứu có dữ liệu định tính. Nghiên cứu đã sử dụng năm công cụ tìm kiếm: PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar, Cochrane và LILAC. Chúng tôi đã sử dụng gói thống kê cho khoa học xã hội (SPSS) để vẽ biểu đồ rừng và biểu đồ phễu riêng cho RR và OR. Sau một tìm kiếm toàn diện, nghiên cứu đã bao gồm 20 bài báo tạo ra 26 kết quả có liên quan với tổng cộng 290,397 quan sát. Phân tích tổng hợp này chứng minh rằng viêm âm đạo do vi khuẩn chắc chắn có liên quan đến sinh non. Tỷ lệ rủi ro tổng thể của việc sinh non khoảng gấp đôi với tỷ lệ odds tổng thể là 1.79 (Khoảng tin cậy 95% 1.32–2.43). RR tổng thể của sinh non là 1.44 (Khoảng tin cậy 95% 1.19–1.73). Nghiên cứu của chúng tôi cho thấy mối liên hệ đáng kể giữa viêm âm đạo do vi khuẩn và sinh non. Nghiên cứu kết luận rằng việc kiểm tra viêm âm đạo do vi khuẩn và quản lý nên là một phần của khám sức khỏe định kỳ của phụ nữ mang thai. Hệ thống y tế cần sớm triển khai chiến lược này để giảm thiểu tỷ lệ sinh non và tỷ lệ tử vong ở trẻ sơ sinh.
