Việc chuyển giao các thanh thiếu niên mắc bệnh xơ nang (CF) từ chăm sóc y tế nhi khoa sang chăm sóc y tế dành cho người lớn là một ưu tiên quan trọng, vì nhiều bệnh nhân đang sống khỏe mạnh vào những năm bốn mươi của họ, và đến năm 2010, hơn một nửa số người sống với CF sẽ lớn hơn 18 tuổi.
