Mặc dù là dịch vụ thiết yếu tại tuyến đầu trong việc ngăn ngừa bệnh tật và tử vong ở trẻ em, có những dấu hiệu cho thấy việc tiêm chủng định kỳ đã bị gián đoạn trong đại dịch COVID-19. Nghiên cứu hiện tại nhằm so sánh tỷ lệ tiêm chủng trước COVID-19 ở Mali vào năm 2019 và trong thời gian COVID-19 vào năm 2020.

Địa điểm và người tham gia

Chúng tôi thu thập dữ liệu tiêm chủng định kỳ từ năm 2019 đến 2020 đối với trẻ em dưới một tuổi tại khu vực y tế của cộng đồng V ở Bamako, bao gồm mười hai trung tâm y tế cộng đồng (CSCom).

Kết quả

Xét về tổng thể tất cả các loại vắc xin, tỷ lệ tiêm chủng năm 2019 cao hơn năm 2020 (88,7% so với 71,6%) (p<10−3, Hình 1). Trong năm 2020, tỷ lệ trẻ em được tiêm chủng thấp đã được quan sát vào tháng 5 (51,1%) hai tháng sau ca COVID-19 đầu tiên tại Mali vào ngày 25 tháng 3 năm 2020. Đối với tất cả các loại vắc xin, số lượng trung bình trẻ em được tiêm chủng cao hơn đáng kể vào năm 2019 (trước COVID-19) so với năm 2020 (trong thời gian COVID-19) (p<0,05). Tuy nhiên, vào tháng 9 và tháng 10 năm 2019, tỷ lệ tiêm chủng BCG thấp hơn năm 2019 so với năm 2020 (p<10−3).

Kết luận

Đại dịch COVID-19 đã ảnh hưởng đến tỷ lệ tiêm chủng định kỳ ở trẻ em tại cộng đồng V của Bamako, đặc biệt là vào tháng 5 năm 2020. Do đó, cần có những chiến lược mới để cải thiện tỷ lệ tiêm chủng ở trẻ em dưới một tuổi.
