Công nghệ nano đã nhận được động lực to lớn trong kỷ nguyên công nghệ đang nổi lên hiện nay, bằng cách mở ra một kho tàng ý tưởng khoa học để đối phó với những thách thức hàng ngày trong phát triển công nghệ. Đến nay, nhiều tính chất và vô vàn ứng dụng của vật liệu nano đã được khám phá, và thậm chí được chứng minh dựa trên hình dạng, kích thước, diện tích bề mặt và hóa học bề mặt đặc trưng.
Trong thời gian qua, đã có nhiều nỗ lực được thực hiện để tổng hợp vật liệu nano xanh, sử dụng chiết xuất từ thực vật.
Đa dạng vật liệu nano bao gồm hạt nano và nanophosphor có thể được tổng hợp sinh học thành công từ chiết xuất hoặc nhựa cây
