Phản ứng sinh hóa và mô bệnh học của Biomphalaria alexandrina đối với RIPEX (chất điều hòa sinh trưởng thực vật)

Các chất điều hòa sinh trưởng thực vật được sử dụng rộng rãi trong nông nghiệp nhằm tăng cường sự phát triển và chín của cây trồng, nhưng chúng lại nguy hiểm cho hệ sinh thái nước. Nghiên cứu hiện tại đã đánh giá tác động của việc tiếp xúc dưới ngưỡng gây chết với các nồng độ RIPEX 48% EC (8 và 16 µL/L) lên các tham số căng thẳng oxy hóa, hormone giới tính, các enzym tiềm năng miễn dịch, số lượng tế bào hemocyte khác nhau, và mô bệnh học của tuyến tiêu hóa và tinh hoàn ở ốc Biomphalaria alexandrina. Việc tiếp xúc với RIPEX đã gây ra sự gia tăng tổng thể hoạt động của Superoxide dismutase và Glutathione-S-Transferase trong B. alexandrina. Tuy nhiên, việc tiếp xúc với nồng độ cao RIPEX lại ức chế hoạt động của SOD ở ốc. Hoạt động của Malondialdehyde cho thấy sự gia tăng ở B. alexandrina được tiếp xúc với cả hai nồng độ sau tất cả các thời điểm tiếp xúc. RIPEX cũng gây ra sự gia tăng đáng kể testosterone ở ốc được tiếp xúc với 16 µL/L, tuy nhiên đã giảm nồng độ hormone ở ốc được tiếp xúc với 8 µL/L sau 7 ngày. Đối với estradiol, đã có sự gia tăng đáng kể sau 3 ngày tiếp xúc với 16 µL/L và 7 ngày tiếp xúc với 8 µL/L. Sự tiếp xúc với RIPEX cũng làm gia tăng hoạt động của các enzym Myeloperoxidase và Adenosine deaminase trong tuyến tiêu hóa của ốc. Nó đã tăng tổng số lượng tế bào hemocyte của ốc bị tiếp xúc cũng như số lượng granulocyte. Tuyến tiêu hóa và tinh hoàn của ốc đã cho thấy sự thay đổi bệnh lý sau 7 ngày tiếp xúc với RIPEX. Những phát hiện này gợi ý rằng RIPEX có độc tính đối với B. alexandrina và loài ốc này có thể được sử dụng như một chỉ báo sinh học cho sự ô nhiễm môi trường với các chất điều hòa sinh trưởng thực vật.
