Kích thước ngân hàng, cạnh tranh và rủi ro trong ngành ngân hàng Thổ Nhĩ Kỳ

Bài báo này nghiên cứu tác động của kích thước ngân hàng và cạnh tranh đối với độ biến động thu nhập và rủi ro mất khả năng thanh toán bằng cách sử dụng dữ liệu theo quý cho các ngân hàng thương mại hoạt động trong ngành ngân hàng Thổ Nhĩ Kỳ trong giai đoạn từ quý 1 năm 2002 đến quý 2 năm 2012. Kết quả chính của bài báo chỉ ra rằng kích thước ngân hàng và độ biến động thu nhập có mối quan hệ tiêu cực, cho thấy rằng các ngân hàng lớn có rủi ro thấp hơn. Kết quả cũng cho thấy rằng cạnh tranh được đo bằng chỉ số Boone làm tăng độ biến động thu nhập. Hơn nữa, các ngân hàng có vốn hóa cao hơn, có tỷ lệ thu nhập không phải lãi trên tổng thu nhập cao hơn và các ngân hàng hoạt động hiệu quả hơn phải đối mặt với độ biến động thu nhập thấp hơn. Cuối cùng, rủi ro mất khả năng thanh toán được đo bằng Z-score và kích thước ngân hàng có mối quan hệ tích cực, cho thấy rằng các ngân hàng lớn hơn ổn định hơn.
