Nhận thức về các yếu tố nguy cơ đột quỵ trong số nhân viên không giảng dạy của Trường Đại học Nnamdi Azikiwe, Cơ sở Nnewi, Tỉnh Anambra, Nigeria

Tỷ lệ đột quỵ đang gia tăng ở Nigeria do thiếu nhận thức về các yếu tố gây nguy cơ. Do đó, cần có kiến thức và nhận thức tốt về các yếu tố nguy cơ đột quỵ trong cộng đồng. Nghiên cứu này đã đánh giá mức độ nhận thức về các yếu tố nguy cơ đột quỵ trong số nhân viên không giảng dạy tại Trường Đại học Nnamdi Azikiwe, Cơ sở Nnewi, Nigeria.
Phần lớn các tham gia nghiên cứu là nữ, 89 (69%), và có bằng sau đại học, 84 (65.1%). Tổng số có 129 người tham gia khảo sát, trong đó 91 (70.5%) biết đến thuật ngữ “đột quỵ.” Các yếu tố nguy cơ phổ biến nhất là huyết áp cao (86%), căng thẳng (74.4%), và thiếu vận động (63.6%). Nghiên cứu cho thấy nhận thức về các yếu tố nguy cơ đột quỵ trong số người tham gia là rất kém (40.3%).
Nhận thức về đột quỵ là kém trong số các người tham gia có nguy cơ cao dù họ có trình độ học vấn cao. Những người tham gia nữ, có trình độ sau đại học và làm việc trong vai trò nhân viên không giảng dạy cao cấp, có nhận thức tốt hơn về các yếu tố nguy cơ đột quỵ so với các đồng nghiệp nam. Điều này cho thấy cần tăng cường các chiến dịch nâng cao nhận thức về đột quỵ trong cộng đồng.
