Giới thiệu: Mặc dù có nhiều nghiên cứu đã xem xét mối liên hệ giữa tình trạng kinh tế - xã hội khu vực (SES) và việc sàng lọc ung thư sau khi đã kiểm soát SES cá nhân, các phát hiện vẫn không đồng nhất. Một tổng quan hệ thống về các nghiên cứu hiện có là cần thiết để xác định các hạn chế về khái niệm và phương pháp cũng như cung cấp cơ sở cho những hướng nghiên cứu và chính sách trong tương lai.

Mục tiêu: Mục tiêu là (a) mô tả thiết kế nghiên cứu, cấu trúc, phương pháp và các thước đo; (b) mô tả mối liên hệ độc lập giữa SES khu vực và việc sàng lọc ung thư; và (c) xác định các lĩnh vực nghiên cứu còn bỏ ngỏ.

Phương pháp: Chúng tôi đã tìm kiếm sáu cơ sở dữ liệu điện tử và thực hiện tìm kiếm thủ công các bài báo đã được trích dẫn và đang được trích dẫn. Các nghiên cứu đủ tiêu chuẩn được công bố trước năm 2008 trong các tạp chí đánh peer bằng tiếng Anh, đại diện cho dữ liệu chính về những cá nhân từ 18 tuổi trở lên ở các quốc gia phát triển, và đo lường mối liên hệ giữa SES khu vực và cá nhân với việc sàng lọc ung thư vú, cổ tử cung hoặc đại trực tràng.
