Các bệnh nhân (28 nam và 21 nữ) với độ tuổi trung bình tại thời điểm phẫu thuật là 13 (khoảng 8-15) tuổi đã được đánh giá hồi cứu. Các biện pháp kết quả bao gồm hình ảnh theo dõi (quang hình chân dài chịu trọng lực của đầu gối bị thương và không bị thương, hình chiếu trước-sau và bên, hình chiếu tiếp tuyến của đầu gối và hình chiếu đường hầm của đầu gối bị thương) và ghi chú theo dõi (6 tuần, 3, 6, 12 tháng và cho đến khi vết tăng trưởng đóng) để ghi nhận sự xuất hiện của bất kỳ thay đổi nào về chiều cao xương chày và/hoặc xương đùi. Kết quả: Tất cả 49 bệnh nhân đều có thời gian theo dõi lâm sàng và hình ảnh học hợp lý (tối thiểu 5 năm, tỷ lệ 100%). 48 trường hợp không cho thấy bất kỳ chứng cứ lâm sàng và hình ảnh học nào về rối loạn tăng trưởng. Một trường hợp rối loạn tăng trưởng ở một cô gái 10,5 tuổi đã được ghi nhận. Cô phát triển một dị tật gập có hướng vẹo tiến triển mà được cho là do việc đặt sai khối xương tự ghép trong tấm epiphyseal sau bên của xương đùi dẫn đến ngừng tăng trưởng khu trú sớm. Không bệnh nhân nào phải phẫu thuật lại do thất bại của ghép ACL. Năm bệnh nhân đã trải qua phẫu thuật lại ACL do bị chấn thương thể thao khác sau khi ngừng phát triển. Tất cả 10 bệnh nhân phải tháo ốc vít cố định xương chày dưới gây tê tại chỗ.
