Mục đíchBởi vì định dạng trình bày, tức là bảng so với đồ thị, trên các trang web mua sắm có thể thúc đẩy hoặc cản trở việc ra quyết định có sự cân nhắc của người tiêu dùng, điều quan trọng là hiểu tác động của trình bày thông tin đối với sự thận trọng. Bài báo này nhằm kiểm tra một cách thực nghiệm liệu định dạng bảng có tăng cường sự ra quyết định có thận trọng, trong khi bản đồ web làm yếu đi quy trình này. Ngoài ra, sự thận trọng có thể bị ảnh hưởng bởi sự định hướng quyết định, tức là định hướng cảm xúc hoặc định hướng chính xác. Do đó, bài viết cũng xem xét tác động của các định dạng trình bày trong hai định hướng quyết định này.Thiết kế/phương pháp luận/cách tiếp cậnMô tả khách quan và chi tiết về quy trình quyết định được sử dụng để xem xét các tác động. Một thí nghiệm theo dõi mắt với hai (định hướng quyết định: cảm xúc tích cực so với chính xác) so với hai (trình bày: bản đồ so với bảng) được thiết kế. Sự thận trọng được lượng hóa bằng mẫu xử lý thông tin được tóm tắt từ dữ liệu chuyển động mắt. Người tham gia được yêu cầu đưa ra các lựa chọn ưu tiên từ các nhiệm vụ quyết định đơn giản.Kết quảKết quả xác nhận rằng bảng củng cố trong khi bản đồ làm yếu đi sự thận trọng. Ngoài ra, tác động này chủ yếu rõ ràng trong hai định hướng quyết định. Phân tích yếu tố khám phá cũng cho thấy có hai chức năng phân bổ chú ý chính (toàn cầu so với địa phương) là nền tảng cho quy trình quyết định.Giới hạn/nguy cơ nghiên cứuChỉ những nhiệm vụ quyết định đơn giản được sử dụng trong nghiên cứu hiện tại và do đó nên giới thiệu các nhiệm vụ phức tạp để xem xét các tác động trong tương lai.Ý nghĩa thực tiễnĐối với người tiêu dùng, họ nên nhận thức rằng bảng hỗ trợ trong khi bản đồ làm giảm sự thận trọng. Đối với doanh nghiệp web, họ có thể cố gắng tăng cường sự bốc đồng trong một bản đồ web đầy những kích thích cảm xúc.Tính mới/giá trịNghiên cứu này là một trong những nỗ lực đầu tiên để điều tra các tác động chung của các trình bày và định hướng quyết định đối với sự thận trọng trong quyết định trong lĩnh vực Internet. Dữ liệu chuyển động mắt cũng rất quý giá vì các nghiên cứu trước đây hiếm khi cung cấp mô tả chi tiết về quy trình quyết định.
