Bài báo này nhằm xây dựng và xác thực một hồ sơ phân loại của các doanh nghiệp vừa và nhỏ (SMEs) trong lĩnh vực sản xuất liên quan đến khả năng áp dụng hệ thống lập kế hoạch nguồn lực doanh nghiệp (ERP), dựa trên tính sẵn sàng của bối cảnh môi trường, tổ chức và công nghệ của họ.
Cung cấp phân tích cụm từ dữ liệu bảng khảo sát thứ cấp thu được từ cơ sở dữ liệu so sánh của 356 doanh nghiệp SMEs sản xuất tại Canada.
Ba loại SMEs được xác định: 140 SMEs “có xu hướng nội bộ”, 60 SMEs “có xu hướng bên ngoài”, và 156 SMEs “có sự không thuận lợi”.
Cung cấp một khuôn khổ phân tích có giá trị có thể phục vụ cho các nhà cung cấp và tư vấn ERP, cũng như cho các chủ quản doanh nghiệp SMEs, giúp người đầu tiên nhắm đến đúng sản phẩm/dịch vụ của họ, và người thứ hai định vị tốt hơn doanh nghiệp của họ trước khi xem xét việc triển khai hệ thống ERP.
