Tóm tắt Mô hình cấu thành được trình bày trong công trình này được xây dựng dựa trên một cách tiếp cận khái niệm cho các loại đất giãn nở không bão hòa, trong đó đặc điểm cơ bản là sự xem xét rõ ràng về hai cấp độ lỗ rỗng. Sự phân biệt giữa cấu trúc vĩ mô và vi mô cung cấp cơ hội để xem xét các hiện tượng chi phối ảnh hưởng đến hành vi của từng cấp độ cấu trúc và các tương tác chính giữa chúng. Cấu trúc vi mô liên quan đến các khoáng sét hoạt động, trong khi cấu trúc vĩ mô nắm bắt cấu trúc quy mô lớn hơn của vật liệu. Mô hình được xây dựng dựa trên các khái niệm của lý thuyết dẻo cổ điển và tổng quát. Các phương trình tỷ lệ ứng suất – biến dạng tổng quát được suy diễn trong khuôn khổ của các vật liệu đa phân tán, điều này cung cấp một cách tiếp cận hợp lý và chính thức khi có nhiều nguồn năng lượng bị tiêu tán. Mô hình được xây dựng trong không gian của ứng suất, độ hút ẩm và nhiệt độ; và đã được triển khai trong một mã phần tử hữu hạn. Cách tiếp cận này đã được áp dụng để giải thích và tái tạo hành vi của các loại đất giãn nở trong nhiều vấn đề mà dữ liệu thí nghiệm đã có sẵn. Ba trường hợp ứng dụng được trình bày trong bài báo này. Đặc biệt, việc mô hình hóa một sự quá nhiệt tình cờ xảy ra trong một thử nghiệm gia nhiệt quy mô lớn rất đáng quan tâm. Thử nghiệm này cho phép kiểm tra khả năng của mô hình khi thực hiện một lộ trình cơ học - thủy - nhiệt (THM) phức tạp. Bản quyền © 2005 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
