use (RLU) types in Alaknanda river catchment (ARC) in the Central Himalaya
(India) is provided here. Among 77 taxa recorded, 73 insect genera belonged to
09 orders and 52 families at different RLU types. Majorities were nymphs and

Observations on Yellow-Wattled Lapwing, Vanellus malabaricus (Boddaert, 1783) in South West Bengal, IndiaSpringer Science and Business Media LLC - Tập 68 - Trang 222-226 - 2014

The present note highlights the geographical distribution of Yellow-Wattled
Lapwing Vanellus malabaricus, which is rarest among the four Vanellus species
found in south West Bengal. Perhaps, due to low encounter of V. malabaricus, the
distribution of this species in south West Bengal remains obscured till now.

The acute bladder snail, Physella acuta (Draparnaud 1805) is globally considered
as a highly invasive snail and it is synonymised to Physa acuta. This species is
host to many trematodes causing foodborne diseases in humans. In the present
study, P. acuta is recorded for the first time from Kerala state with its first
mitochondrial DNA cytochrome c oxidase subunit I gene sequence from India.

Polyphenolics and Energy Content in Phytoplankton: Evidence from a Freshwater LakeSpringer Science and Business Media LLC - Tập 67 - Trang 18-27 - 2013
C. Chattopadhyay
Investigation was carried out in the ancient man-made, shallow, freshwater lake,
Lake Krishnasayer, at Burdwan (23°16′N, 87°54′E), India, to note the variations
in physico-chemical parameters, nutrients, phytoplankton communities,
concentration of phenols and energy content in phytoplanktons during
January–December 2006. The lake was represented by 16, 15, 2 and 17 genera of

The present study reports the diel variations of zooplanktons in two ponds at
Barrackpore, West Bengal, India. The zooplankton showed different patterns of
vertical movements in different time sections of a day. The copepods and
cladocerans were always found to be abundant near the surface during morning and
evening whereas the rotifers showed reciprocal pattern. Copepods and cladocerans

Arthropods exploiting terrestrial habitats constitute a single major group that
represents extreme diversity of forms and functions. The present commentary
provides a description of the above ground arthropod species diversity of the
tropical deciduous forest in Ayodhya hills, Purulia, West Bengal, India. Species
diversity was only considered for this study through random quadrat sampling
method. ... hiện toàn bộ
