Stability of IRSL signals from sedimentary K-feldspar samples - 2011
Kristina Jørkov Thomsen, Andrew Murray, Mayank Jain
Abstract Recent work has identified IR stimulated luminescence signals at
elevated temperature from both potassium- and sodium-rich feldspars that have
much lower anomalous fading rates than the conventional signal measured using IR
stimulation at 50°C. This paper examines the stability of these signals for
potassium-rich sedimentary feldspars. We show that the natural post-IR IRSL
(pIRIR) signal ... hiện toàn bộ
Age and sedimentological features of fluvial series in the Toruń Basin and the Drwęca Valley (Poland) - 2011
Piotr Weckwerth, Krzysztof Przegiętka, Alicja Chruścińska, Barbara Woronko, H. L. Oczkowski
Abstract The deposits of the Toruń Basin are dominated by a few-metre thick sand
series which fill up buried valley-like depressions. In many cases they underlie
the Weichselian till which builds up the ice marginal streamway (pradolina)
terraces or they are exposed at the basin slopes. As the results of the
geological and sedimentological studies, as well as of the dating of the
deposits at the s... hiện toàn bộ
OSL dating and lithological characteristics of loess deposits from Biały Kościół Tập 38 Số 2 - Trang 162-171 - 2011
Piotr Moska, Grzegorz Adamiec, Zdzisław Jary
Abstract Absolute dating using luminescence methods is widely applicable in
geology, geomorphology, palaeogeography and in archaeology in establishing ages
of sediments and archaeological artefacts. By creating absolute time scales for
different events in the history of Earth scientists are able to reconstruct
changes in climate and environment in the past, and the history of colonization
and deve... hiện toàn bộ
TL and OSL Dating of Sediment and Pottery from Two Syrian Archaeological Sites Tập 31 - Trang 21-29 - 2008
Jorge Sanjurjo‐Sánchez, Daniel Fernández Mosquera, Juan Luís Montero Fenollós
Luminescence dating is widely applied nowadays, mainly for archaeological
material and artefacts and sediments of all types and origins. However,
optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) from archaeological sediment, originated
from mud brick buildings has been hardly studied. The archaeological sites of
Tall Abu Fahd and Tall Qsubi are located in the Middle Euphrates Valley, Deir
ez-Zor district, ... hiện toàn bộ
Evaluating similarity of radial increments around tree stem circumference of European beech and Norway spruce from Central Europe Tập 41 Số 2 - Trang 136-146 - 2014

Extracting cores from a tree using an increment borer has been standard practice
in dendrochronological studies for a long time. Although empirical rules exist
regarding how many samples to take and which methodology to apply, comparatively
few studies provide quantification of the similarity of relative
tree-ring-widths (TRW) around the stem circumference. The aim of this study was
therefore to p... hiện toàn bộ
Optical dating of alluvial deposits at the orogenic front of the andean precordillera (Mendoza, Argentina) - 2012
Silke Schmidt, Sumiko Tsukamoto, Eric Salomon, Manfred Frechen, Ralf Hetzel
Abstract Well constrained numerical ages of alluvial fan sediments are key to
understanding the chronology of alluvial episodes and tectonic activity at the
front of the Andean Precordillera. We tested the application of radiocarbon and
optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) dating in the distal part of an alluvial
fan five kilometers north of Mendoza. For OSL dating a large number of aliquots

Potential geoarchaeological sites for luminescence dating in the Ganga Bhagirathi-Hugli delta, west Bengal, India Tập 38 Số 3 - Trang 282-291 - 2011
S. N. Rajaguru, B. C. Deotare, Kaushik Gangopadhyay, Malay K. Sain, Sheena Panja
Archaeological studies in the upper and lower part of the Ganga-Bhaghrathi-Hugli
delta were taken up to understand the nature of site formation and human
adaptation in a dynamic fluvial zone. This aspect has been neglected in Indian
archaeology. However archaeological dating using typological information, has an
error margin of a couple of centuries and hence, is of limited use. We suggest
that hi... hiện toàn bộ
