Clones of telomerized fibroblasts of adult human skin have earlier been
obtained. It was shown that despite their fast growth in mass cultures, these
cells poorly form colonies. Conditioned medium, antioxidants, and reduced
partial oxygen pressure enhanced their colony formation, but not to the level
characteristic of the initial cells. The conditioned medium of telomerized cells
enhanced colony f... hiện toàn bộ
Age variability of the sexual size dimorphism in sables in nature and captivityRussian Journal of Developmental Biology - Tập 43 - Trang 232-243 - 2012
V. G. Monakhov
Inter-sexual differences in craniometric parameters were studied in sables of
varying sex and age in natural (n = 2338) and farm (n = 516) populations. In
nature, the differences between the skull size in males and females are, as a
rule, highly significant (p < 0.001) and the size dynamics correlate well with
age. In the farm population, the difference in the skull size between the sexes
is stati... hiện toàn bộ
Growth rhythms at different stages of shoot morphogenesis in woody plantsRussian Journal of Developmental Biology - Tập 39 - Trang 65-72 - 2011
O. B. Mikhalevskaya
Research data on the rhythms of shoot growth in woody plants obtained in the
second half of the 20th century are reviewed. Analysis of these data
demonstrated different regulation of shoot growth processes at three stages of
its development: (1) initiation of shoot primordia, (2) primordia development
into phyllome primordia, and (3) visible shoot growth. The growth rhythm after
the first stage wa... hiện toàn bộ
Articulata and EcdysozoaRussian Journal of Developmental Biology - Tập 46 - Trang 121-126 - 2015

Science has accumulated to date such amounts of valuable and diverse information
that no scientists can be encyclopedists (like those of the 17th and 18th
centuries). Now every scientist is usually well informed only in one particular
area and often needs consultations of other specialists. The current situation
in biology is similar. In addition to evolutionary morphology, which represents
fundam... hiện toàn bộ
Some Paradoxical Phenomena in Hair Follicle HistophysiologyRussian Journal of Developmental Biology - Tập 52 - Trang 9-15 - 2021

The study was focused on the morphological features of the hair follicle and
hair shaft of coarse-haired sheep. The results allow for explaining the
paradoxical phenomenon of combining strong hair fastening in the skin with its
continuous advancement towards the skin surface during hair growth. It has been
shown that tooth-like structures of the hair cuticle’s surface and complementary
indentation... hiện toàn bộ
Age-Related and Individual Anatomical Variation in Testicular Topography in Human FetusesRussian Journal of Developmental Biology - Tập 49 - Trang 234-239 - 2018

At present, male infertility remains an urgent medical concern. From year to
year, despite advances in methods of diagnosis and treatment, medicine
encounters an increasing number of infertile couples with male infertility
playing a leading role. Prerequisites for fertility disorders very frequently
appear in childhood. Urologists consider cryptorchidism a leading cause of male
infertility. The ai... hiện toàn bộ
