The results of an experiment on modeling the neutralization of ship ballast
waters (BWs) contaminated with unicellular halophilic alga Dunaliella terricola
using the radiation of a low-pressure mercury arc lamp with wavelengths of 254
and 185 nm are presented. The experiment models the filling of the BW tank with
seawater contaminated with D. terricola using a ballast water decontamination

A comparative analysis of the habitat characteristics, the gut content, and the
elemental composition of the cutting edge of the mandibles is provided for two
species of crustaceans (Copepoda, Calanoida), Eurytemora velox (Lilljeborg,
1853) and Eurytemora lacustris (Poppe, 1887). These representatives of the
brackish and marine fauna inhabit the Belarusian freshwaters. The paper presents

This article presents results of the study of exotic woody plants producing
self-seeding on the territory of St. Petersburg (Russia). According to our data,
self-seeding is recorded in 227 species of 73 genera of 31 families in St.
Petersburg. In 49 species of 28 genera of 19 families, self-seeding is observed
for the first time. A number of species have potentially invasive properties,
