Prediction of bending strength and stiffness strength of particleboard based on structural parameters by Buckingham’s p-theoremJournal of the Indian Academy of Wood Science - Tập 7 - Trang 65-70 - 2011
Mohammad Arabi, Mehdi Faezipour, Mohammad Layeghi, Akbar Enayati, Reza Zahed
It has been known for several decades that structural and processing parameters can strongly affect the modulus of rupture (MOR) and elasticity (MOE) of particleboards. Several studies that have explored the prediction of MOR and MOE, but to date there is no an accepted model for explaining the effects of structural parameters on these properties. The current study predicts MOR and MOE based on th...... hiện toàn bộ
Researches on influence of wood sanding direction on wood gluingJournal of the Indian Academy of Wood Science - Tập 19 - Trang 103-109 - 2022
Michał Bembenek
The wood surface quality is most determined by the way in which it has been processed before and by the tools used for this purpose. Machining has its effect primarily on the structural shape of the surface formed after the tool–wood contact and also on the roughness of the surface obtained after a specific process. In most cases, wood surfaces of elements which are materials or semi-finished prod...... hiện toàn bộ
Comparative wood anatomy with ecological and evolutionary trends among different growth forms of genus FicusJournal of the Indian Academy of Wood Science - - 2024
Ronak Yadav, Sangeeta Gupta, P. K. Verma, Upasna Sharma
Ficus is a largest genus of family Moraceae with amazing diversity in growth forms varying from shrub and lianas/climbers to free-growing and epiphytic trees. While it is easy to find habits variations among various families, within families, or even between genera, it is more interesting to find them within a genus. The objective of the study was to investigate the wood anatomical variations amon...... hiện toàn bộ
Keratin hydrolysate-modified amino resin for particle board panel productJournal of the Indian Academy of Wood Science - Tập 19 - Trang 79-86 - 2022
Ranjana yadav
Urea formaldehyde-based amino resins were prepared in the laboratory using keratin hydrolysate through copolymerization reaction. Conventional urea formaldehyde amino resins were also synthesized without the addition of keratin hydrolysate powder during the reaction. The main aim of this study was developed to keratin hydrolysate-modified urea formaldehyde amino resin adhesive for the bonding of f...... hiện toàn bộ
Marine exposure trials on two treated timbers used for fabricating catamaransJournal of the Indian Academy of Wood Science - Tập 8 - Trang 193-197 - 2012
M. V. Rao, Pankaj K. Aggarwal
Marine exposure trials were conducted on Albizia lebbeck and Tetrameles nudiflora timbers after pressure impregnation with two common wood preservatives viz. copper-chrome-arsenic and copper-chrome-boric. Results of the trials indicate that use of the two timber species would yield the envisaged benefits if catamarans are fabricated out of them after due treatment.
Properties evaluation and defects detection in timbers by ultrasonic non-destructive techniqueJournal of the Indian Academy of Wood Science - Tập 9 - Trang 66-71 - 2012
S. K. Sharma, S. R. Shukla
Three commercial timber species viz. Acacia mangium, Grevillea robusta and Mangifera indica were selected to study the occurrence of natural and biological defects using ultrasonic non-destructive technique. Different tests were conducted on defective as well as sound (defect free) wood specimens to investigate the effect of defects (grain orientation and hole/defect size) on the ultrasonic veloci...... hiện toàn bộ
Effect of a foaming agent and a pozzolan on properties of high silica content fiber–cement compositesJournal of the Indian Academy of Wood Science - Tập 12 - Trang 122-131 - 2015

Combination of fly ash (FA) and micro aluminum powder (AL) is an alternative to produce cement composites out of Equisetum (Eq. telmateia) fibers which would have acceptable thermal and mechanical properties. In this study, Type II Portland cement, class F FA, AL, Equisetum
telmateia fibers and silica fume gel used to manufacture structural composite boards with target den...... hiện toàn bộ
