Subcapital ulnar shortening osteotomyJournal of Hand and Microsurgery - Tập 1 - Trang 103-107 - 2010
Mark Henry
Ulnar shortening osteotomy is the standard treatment for the condition of
ulnocarpal impaction. Traditionally ulnar shortening osteotomy has been
performed in the diaphysis and secured with a 3.5 mm plate. Delayed union,
nonunion, and symptomatic hardware have been cited as detractors of this
technique. A number of alternatives have consequently been proposed that range
from different hardware to ... hiện toàn bộ
Evaluating the Effectiveness of a Wiki Internet Site for Medical TopicsJournal of Hand and Microsurgery - - 2012
Clinton Burgos, Arjan Bot, David Ring
To evaluate the iterative process of a collaborative public database (a Wiki) as
a reference for information on hand illnesses we tested the null hypothesis that
the number and type of edits are comparable for web pages covering different
topics. The history of 4 hand surgery related web pages on the English language

Heterotopic Ossification of the Finger Following Closed Blunt TraumaJournal of Hand and Microsurgery - Tập 7 - Trang 199-201 - 2014
Esther Wan Xian Tan, Sechachalam Sreedharan
A right hand dominant young ethnic Indian male developed heterotopic
ossification (HO) of his right index finger after a contusion due to a fall.
There were no open wounds clinically and no fractures noted on plain
radiographs. Stiffness of the proximal interphalangeal joint and generalised
swelling of the digit was present about three weeks after the injury.
Radiographic investigations of the dig... hiện toàn bộ
Free Tissue Transfer and Replantation in Pediatric Patients: Technical Feasibility and Outcome in a Series of 28 PatientsJournal of Hand and Microsurgery - Tập 5 - Trang 74-80 - 2013
Yasser Abdallah Aboelatta, Hazem Maher Aly
Microsurgery in the pediatric population is still challenging because of
technical difficulties in the small vessel diameter anastomosis and flaps
dissection. The present study reports our experience of microsurgical
reconstruction with free tissue transfer and replantation. Twenty-eight
pediatric patients under the age of 15 years underwent different microsurgical
procedures over a 10-year period... hiện toàn bộ
Reliability of the 8 Week Time Point for Single Assessment of Midcarpal Fusion by CT ScanJournal of Hand and Microsurgery - Tập 3 - Trang 1-5 - 2011
Mark Henry
High rates of nonunion have recently been reported for midcarpal fusions. Due to
curvature and overlap of carpal interfaces, two dimensional films are not
reliable in determining union of a midcarpal fusion. Computed tomography is the
most reliable radiographic method of evaluating osseous union. Initiating motion
as soon as fusion has occurred is a priority with the goal of maximizing final
range... hiện toàn bộ
Gauntlets and Glovettes for Digital SurgeryJournal of Hand and Microsurgery - Tập 5 - Trang 24-26 - 2013

The importance of keeping pathogenic bacteria from traumatic hand injuries is
obvious but removing dirt, grease, oil, solvents and other chemicals from
injured hands is not always possible. In certain occupations such as
construction, workers are exposed to these hazards and when injured injuries
(e.g. abrasions, burns, cuts, lacerations, punctures) often present with dirty
hands. The technique of... hiện toàn bộ
