Expected value of fuzzy variable and fuzzy expected value models
IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems - Tập 10 Số 4 - Trang 445-450 - 2002

This paper will present a novel concept of expected values of fuzzy variables, which is essentially a type of Choquet integral and coincides with that of random variables. In order to calculate the expected value of general fuzzy variable, a fuzzy simulation technique is also designed. Finally, we construct a spectrum of fuzzy expected value models, and integrate fuzzy simulation, neural network, and genetic algorithms to produce a hybrid intelligent algorithm for solving general fuzzy expected value models.

Parallelization of a fuzzy control algorithm using quantum computation
IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems - Tập 10 Số 4 - Trang 451-460 - 2002
G.G. Rigatos, S.G. Tzafestas
Quantum computation is proposed for the parallelization of a fuzzy logic control (FLC) algorithm. Quantum computation speeds up the fuzzy inference since serial operations between matrices of large dimensionality are now replaced by a one-step quantum addition or a quantum subtraction. The unitarity properties of the algorithm prove that the FLC stands for a simulator of a quantum computing machine.

Algorithms for the computation of T-transitive closures
IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems - Tập 10 Số 4 - Trang 541-551 - 2002

We present two weight-driven algorithms for the computation of the T-transitive closure of a symmetric binary fuzzy relation on a finite universe X with cardinality n (or, equivalently, of a symmetric (n/spl times/n)-matrix with elements in [0, 1]), with T a triangular norm. The first algorithm is proven to be valid for any triangular norm T, whereas the second algorithm is shown to be valid when T is either the minimum operator or an Archimedean triangular norm. Furthermore, we investigate how these algorithms can be appropriately adapted to generate the T-transitive closure of nonsymmetric binary fuzzy relations (or matrices) as well.

This paper presents a rationale for providing hardware supported functions of more than two variables for processing incomplete knowledge and fuzzy knowledge. The result is in contrast to Kolmogorov's (1957) theorem in the numerical (nonfuzzy) case.

Fuzzy model reference adaptive control
IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems - Tập 10 Số 4 - Trang 436-444 - 2002
N. Golea, A. Golea, K. Benmahammed
This paper investigates a fuzzy model reference adaptive controller (FMRAC) for continuous-time multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) nonlinear systems. The proposed adaptive scheme uses a Takagi-Seguno (TS) fuzzy adaptive system, which allows for the inclusion of a priori information in terms of qualitative knowledge about the plant operating points or analytical regulators (e.g., state feedback) for those operating points. A proportional-integral update law is used to obtain a fast parameters adaptation. Stability and robustness of this adaptive scheme are established using Lyapunov stability tools. The simulation results, for a two-link robot, confirm the performance of the proposed approach.
