A vector neural network for emitter identificationIEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation - Tập 50 Số 8 - Trang 1120-1127 - 2002
Ching-Sung Shieh, Chin-Teng Lin
This paper proposes a three-layer vector neural network (VNN) with a supervised
learning algorithm suitable for signal classification in general, and for
emitter identification (EID) in particular. The VNN can accept interval-value
input data as well as scalar input data. The input features of the EID problems
include the radio frequency, pulse width, and pulse repetition interval of a
received em... hiện toàn bộ

Generalized soft-and-hard surfaceIEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation - Tập 50 Số 7 - Trang 926-929 - 2002
I.V. Lindell
Soft-and-hard surface (SHS) is a mathematical idealization of the tuned
corrugated boundary. The boundary conditions are defined by a single real vector
parallel to the corrugations. The SHS boundary was recently generalized by
replacing the real vector by a complex vector and its conjugate (see Lindell,
I.V., Proc. Inst. Elect. Eng. Microw. Antenna Propagat., vol.147, p.495-9,
2000). The SHS boun... hiện toàn bộ

A broadband planar quasi-Yagi antennaIEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation - Tập 50 Số 8 - Trang 1158-1160 - 2002
N. Kaneda, W.R. Deal, Yongxi Qian, R. Waterhouse, T. Itoh
A novel broadband planar antenna based on the classic Yagi-Uda dipole array is
presented. This "quasi-Yagi" antenna achieves a measured 48% bandwidth for VSWR
<2, better than 12 dB front-to-back ratio, smaller than -15 dB cross
polarization, 3-5 dB absolute gain and a nominal efficiency of 93% across the
operating bandwidth. Finite-difference time-domain simulation is used for
optimization of the ... hiện toàn bộ

Low-Profile Wideband High-Gain Reconfigurable Antenna With Quad-Polarization DiversityIEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation - Tập 66 Số 7 - Trang 3741-3746 - 2018
Huy Hung Tran, Nghia Nguyen-Trong, Tuan Tu Le, Amin M. Abbosh, Hyun Chang Park
A low-profile, wideband, high-gain reconfigurable antenna, which is capable of
switching among four linear polarizations (LPs) at every 45° rotation, namely,
0°, 45°, 90°, and 135° LP, is presented. The proposed structure is based on two
half-ellipse-shaped dipoles arranged perpendicularly and is center fed by
coaxial cable. The antenna polarization can be switched by selecting the
appropriate dip... hiện toàn bộ

Analysis of finite-microstrip structures using surface equivalence principle and multiple network theory (SEMN)IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation - Tập 50 Số 8 - Trang 1128-1137 - 2002
F. Tavakkol-Hamedani, A. Tavakoli, L. Shafai
Two techniques are developed for the analysis of finite microstrip structures.
They are based on electric and magnetic field integral equation (EFIE and MFIE)
formulations of the surface equivalent principle and multiple network theory
(SEMN) method. Using pulse surface basis functions, the surface of each
homogeneous dielectric body is modeled by small flat segments of arbitrary
geometry and cons... hiện toàn bộ

Efficiency and gain of slot antennas and arrays on thick dielectric substrates for millimeter-wave applications: a unified approachIEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation - Tập 50 Số 8 - Trang 1088-1098 - 2002
G.V. Eleftheriades, Meide Qiu
A unified approach for representing the surface-wave fields and for computing
the corresponding radiation efficiencies from arbitrarily shaped slot-type
antennas on thick dielectric substrates at millimeter-wave (mm-wave) frequencies
is presented. In this approach, two different representations of the
surface-wave fields, i.e., the one based on the idea that the surface-wave power
can be associate... hiện toàn bộ

Experimental verification of the effect of aperture shape on prompt IRA responseIEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation - Tập 50 Số 7 - Trang 1032-1034 - 2002
J.S. Tyo, C.J. Buchenauer
This article presents experimental measurements verifying the relationship
between aperture shape and prompt response in an impulse radiating antenna
(IRA). Various aperture configurations were realized by constructing a lens IRA
with focusing aperture significantly larger than the transverse electromagnetic
(TEM) feed structure and then eliminating portions of the aperture with metal
blocks. Virt... hiện toàn bộ

High-frequency (whispering-gallery mode)-to-beam conversion on a perfectly conducting concave-convex boundaryIEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation - Tập 50 Số 8 - Trang 1109-1119 - 2002
K. Goto, T. Ishihara, L.B. Felsen
When a well-confined high-frequency (HF) whispering-gallery (WG) mode launched
from the concave side of a concave-convex perfectly conducting boundary
propagates toward the convex side, it becomes successively less confined and
eventually detaches completely to form a radiated beam field. Detailed
characterization of the intricate WG mode-to-beam conversion (here considered
for the two-dimensional... hiện toàn bộ
