AbstractBackgroundRe-allocation of resources during the COVID-19 pandemic has
resulted in delays in care delivery to patients with cardiovascular disease and
cancer. The ability of health care providers to provide optimal care in this
setting has not been formally evaluated.ObjectivesTo assess the impact of
COVID-19 resource re-allocation on scheduling, testing, elective procedures,
telemedicine a... hiện toàn bộ
Severe combined cardiac and neuromuscular toxicity from immune checkpoint blockade: an institutional case series Tập 6 Số 1 - 2020
Puja Arora, Laura Talamo, Patrick M. Dillon, Ryan D. Gentzler, Trish Millard, Michael Salerno, Craig L. Slingluff, Elizabeth Gaughan
Abstract Background Immune checkpoint inhibition is part of standard systemic
management for many advanced malignancies. Toxicities from this treatment
approach are unpredictable, though usually reversible with management per
established guidelines. Some patients suffer major morbidity and
treatment-related mortality from these agents in an unpredictable manner.
Cardiac and neurologic complication... hiện toàn bộ

Mediastinal irradiation and valvular heart disease - 2022
Shivaraj Patil, Srinath‐Reddi Pingle, Khalid Shalaby, Agnes S. Kim
AbstractAnticancer therapy has the potential to cause unwanted cardiovascular
side effects. Utilization of radiation therapy to treat tumors near the heart
can result in radiation-induced valvular heart disease among other
cardiovascular pathologies. The aim of this review is to describe the
epidemiology, pathophysiology, risk prediction, non-invasive imaging modalities
and management of radiation... hiện toàn bộ
Clinical impact of interruption in adjuvant Trastuzumab therapy in patients with operable HER-2 positive breast cancer - 2020

Abstract Background Trastuzumab-induced cardiotoxicity (TIC) can lead to early
discontinuation of adjuvant therapy, however there is limited evidence on
long-term survival outcomes in patients with operable human epidermal growth
factor receptor 2 (HER2)-positive breast cancer (BC) experiencing treatment
interruption or discontinuation. Methods The primary objective of the study was
to evaluate di... hiện toàn bộ
Impact of cancer and cardiovascular disease on in-hospital outcomes of COVID-19 patients: results from the american heart association COVID-19 cardiovascular disease registry Tập 7 Số 1 - 2021

Abstract Background While pre-existing cardiovascular disease (CVD) appears to
be associated with poor outcomes in patients with Coronavirus Disease 2019
(COVID-19), data on patients with CVD and concomitant cancer is limited. The
purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of underlying CVD and CVD risk
factors with cancer history on in-hospital mortality in those with COVID-19.
