An alternative low-cost adsorbent for gold recovery from cyanide-leached liquors: Adsorption isotherm and kinetic studiesAdsorption Science and Technology - Tập 37 Số 1-2 - Trang 3-23 - 2019
Refiloe Tsolele, Fanyana M. Mtunzi, Michael J. Klink, Vusumzi Emmanuel Pakade
Pristine Macadamia nutshell-based activated carbons were chemically oxidized
with different concentrations of H3PO4 and HNO3 to increase their surface
adsorption properties and further explore if they could be an attractive
alternative low-cost adsorbent for gold recovery from cyanide-leached liquors.
The modified activated carbons were labeled MACN20, MACN40 and MACN55 to signify
the materials pr... hiện toàn bộ
The influence of different organic solvents on the size and shape of asphaltene aggregates studied via small-angle X-ray scattering and scanning tunneling microscopyAdsorption Science and Technology - Tập 34 Số 2-3 - Trang 244-257 - 2016
Yurii V. Larichev, Anna V. Nartova, Oleg N. Martyanov
An influence of various organic compounds on aggregation of asphaltenes
separated from Tartar oil was studied by small-angle X-ray scattering and
scanning tunneling microscopy methods. The compounds such as cyclohexane,
methanol, formic acid, heptane, tetrabutylammonium fluoride, acetonitrile,
decane, hexanol-1, furfural, and octene-1, added to the solution of asphaltenes
in toluene, were shown to... hiện toàn bộ
Maximum Bleaching of Vegetable Oils by Acid-Activated Bentonite: Influence of Nanopore RadiusAdsorption Science and Technology - Tập 30 Số 1 - Trang 97-104 - 2012
Müşerref Önal, Yüksel Sarıkaya
The optimum conditions necessary for preparing a bleaching earth (BE) with
maximum bleaching power (BP) towards soybean oil (SO) and cottonseed oil (CSO)
were investigated. BEs were obtained by H2SO4 activation of a white calcium
bentonite (CaB) sample from the Kütahya region of Turkey. After drying for 4 h
at 105 °C, the CaB samples were activated by heating their acidic aqueous
suspensions for 6... hiện toàn bộ
Application of Kinetic Models to the Sorption of Copper(II) on to PeatAdsorption Science and Technology - Tập 20 Số 8 - Trang 797-815 - 2002
Yuh‐Shan Ho, Gordon McKay
A comparison of the kinetics of the sorption of copper(II) on to peat from
aqueous solution at various initial copper(II) concentrations and peat doses was
made. The Elovich model and the pseudo-second order model both provided a high
degree of correlation with the experimental data for most of the sorption
process. There was a small discrepancy at the initial stages of sorption which
suggested th... hiện toàn bộ
Pore Characterization of Carbonaceous Materials by DFT and GCMC Simulations: A ReviewAdsorption Science and Technology - Tập 21 Số 5 - Trang 389-423 - 2003
D.D. Do, H.D. Do
A review is given of the pore characterization of carbonaceous materials,
including activated carbon, carbon fibres, carbon nanotubes, etc., using
adsorption techniques. Since the pores of carbon media are mostly of molecular
dimensions, the appropriate modern tools for the analysis of adsorption
isotherms are grand canonical Monte Carlo (GCMC) simulations and density
functional theory (DFT). Thes... hiện toàn bộ
Colour Removal from Dye Wastewater Using Sugar Cane Dust as an AdsorbentAdsorption Science and Technology - Tập 17 Số 4 - Trang 269-282 - 1999
S. D. Khattri, Maya Shankar Singh
Decolouration of dilute solutions of basic dye stuff was carried out using sugar
cane dust as an adsorbent. It was found that low adsorbate concentration, small
particle size of the adsorbent, a temperature of 25°C and a pH value of 7.5 for
the medium all favour the removal of dye from aqueous solutions. The percentage
of dye adsorbed by sugar cane dust decreased from 96.48% to 83.32% and from
90.... hiện toàn bộ
