Developing an EMC site as a management resource2002 IEEE International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility - Tập 1 - Trang 529-535 vol.1
D.L. Traver, M. Arthurs
In this paper, we describe the process utilized to develop a comprehensive EMC
management strategy to support engineering and design groups at our San Diego
Technology Center- SDTC. The development of a new EMC management program and
constructing a supporting facility is key for support of television, computer
and computer display's digital cable boxes, digital satellite receivers, digital

Radiated susceptibility of wiring system aboard lightning struck aircraft. Part I: sensitivity to the p.u.l. external parameters2002 IEEE International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility - Tập 1 - Trang 65-70 vol.1
M. D'Amore, M.S. Sarto, A. Scarlatti
The sensitivity of the radiated susceptibility of cable bundles aboard lightning
struck aircraft, against variations of the p.u.l. external parameters is
analyzed. The influence that these parameters have on the short-circuit currents
and open-end voltages induced on cable bundles, as regards variations of the
installation configuration and geometrical set-up is investigated. A strategy is

Uncertainty in radiated tests due to source polarization2002 IEEE International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility - Tập 1 - Trang 506-508 vol.1
E.R. Heise, R.E.W. Heise
Radiated uncertainty calculations are based on instrumentation and transducer
factors for testing at a site that conforms to normalized site attenuation
criteria, such as ANSI C63.4. The criterion is obtained using linear polarized
antennas to measure like polarized sources. Equipment testing or troubleshooting
generally conforms to this model, but some very substantial vertical signals can
be gen... hiện toàn bộ

Comparison of correlation algorithms between GTEM cell and semi anechoic chamber2002 IEEE International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility - Tập 1 - Trang 481-485 vol.1
Jong-Hwa Kwon, Hyun Ho Park, Ae-Kyoung Lee, Hyung-Do Choi
The main purpose of GTEM cell as an alternative facility for EMC compliance
testing is to accurately measure the radiated emission generated from an
equipment-under-test (EUT). The open area test site (OATS) is the standard test
facility for radiated emission measurements, thus the GTEM cell data have to be
correlated to the OATS results. The correlation algorithms between GTEM cell and
OATS such ... hiện toàn bộ

Maintain and validate radiated emissions measurements in a 10 meter semi-anechoic chamber2002 IEEE International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility - Tập 1 - Trang 492-497 vol.1
P. Rose, M. Luvara
In this paper, the authors describe the methods and procedures used to maintain
and validate a 10 meter semi-anechoic chamber used for radiated emissions
measurements. Included are a list of monthly, semi-annual, annual, and as needed
checks and an approach for measurement software/hardware validation. Finally,
they discuss a method by which to verify that a semi-anechoic chamber's
measurement sys... hiện toàn bộ

Description of magnetic field distributions caused by single-pole encapsulated switchgear2002 IEEE International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility - Tập 1 - Trang 440-445 vol.1
B.W. Jaekel
Power frequency magnetic fields produced by switchgear might interfere with
sensitive equipment or might even conflict with exposure limits for people. In
order to prevent possible influences the knowledge of the magnetic field levels
at locations under concern is necessary. Though the magnetic field distributions
of switchgear installations are mainly determined by the physical arrangement of
the... hiện toàn bộ

Dithered timing spread spectrum clock generation for reduction of electromagnetic radiated emission from high-speed digital system2002 IEEE International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility - Tập 1 - Trang 413-418 vol.1 - 2002
Jonghoon Kim, Joungho Kim, Piljung Jun
In modern digital systems, the most amount of radiation from the system is
caused by the high-speed digital clock signal. As a method to reduce the
electromagnetic radiation from the system clock, a spread spectrum clock
technique that modulates the system clock frequency had been introduced. The
conventional spread spectrum clock is realized by controlling the period or the
frequency using a phas... hiện toàn bộ

Reduction in radiated emission by symmetrical power-ground layer stack-up PCB with no open edge2002 IEEE International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility - Tập 1 - Trang 262-267 vol.1
S. Haga, K. Nakano, O. Hashimoto
Power-ground plane resonance of multi-layer PCB causes a large amount of
emission from the edges of power-ground plane. To reduce the emission,
symmetrical power-ground layer stack-up PCBs with no open edge have been
developed. The symmetrical boards significantly reduce the emission to almost no
peak and additionally have the great advantages of signal integrity and
packaging density.

EMI measurement method above 1 GHz-influences of EUT size and receiving antenna beamwidth2002 IEEE International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility - Tập 2 - Trang 611-614 vol.2
C. Miyazaki, T. Suda, T. Yamaguchi, J. Kawano
The measurement method of EMI radiated from information technology equipment
(ITE) above 1 GHz has been discussed in CISPR. The authors think that further
discussions are necessary of EUT size, measurement distance, receiving antenna
beamwidth, material of EUT table, etc. In this paper, we describe the influence
of EUT size and receiving antenna beamwidth upon the measurement results.
