Pico-second time domain reflectometry response of a microstripline embedded in various liquids - Trang 329-332
B.R. Sharma, S.C. Mehrotra
A microstripline having 50 ohms characteristic impedance has been delineated on
PCB type FR-4 board material, by using standard three layer dry film lamination
and chemical photo-etching technology. The dielectric constant and dissipation
factor for FR-4 substrate material is 4.6 and 0.018 at 1 MHz respectively. The
fringing fields arising from free end of a microstripline have been employed to
ob... hiện toàn bộ

Influence of molecular structure on propagation of streamer discharge in hydrocarbon liquids - Trang 119-122
N. Hamano, Y. Nakao, T. Naito, Y. Nakagami, R. Shimizu, Y. Sakai, H. Tagashita
It is considered that the studies of the influence of molecular structure on the
propagation of the prebreakdown phenomena in dielectric liquids are of great
importance to comprehend the breakdown mechanism. In the present paper, the
propagation processes of prebreakdown phenomena in straight-chain hydrocarbon
liquids having different molecular structure are observed and investigated in
detail for... hiện toàn bộ

Excited states in the VUV photoionization process of liquid tetramethylsilane and alkanes - Trang 78-80
J.P. Guelfucci, M.L. Huertas, J. Casanovas
Some characteristic energies are observed in the first derivative of the
photoionization spectrum of tetramethylsilane (TMS) cyclohexane and
2,2,dimethylbutane (DMB). They could correspond to "auto-ionizing" states
situated above the ionization threshold. Some of these energies are assigned to
Rydberg series converging to a vertical ionization potential in gas phase and
persisting in liquid phase.

Physical-chemical oil tests, monitoring and diagnostics of oil-filled transformers - Trang 242-247
M.K. Gradnik
This paper presents physical-chemical testing methods as used today worldwide
and at the Institute Chemistry Department. Investigation results obtained by
means of various physical-chemical tests of transformer oil samples provide not
only the liquid dielectrics quality; they also enable diagnosis of the current
operational capability, estimating reliability and assessment of the residual

Charge behavior in flowing oil at oil/pressboard interface by electro-optic field measurement - Trang 178-181
H. Okubo, N. Inoue, M. Wakamatsu, K. Kato, R. Shimizu, Y. Nakagami
In this paper, the authors directly measure the electric field strength in an
oil/pressboard composite insulation system using an electro-optic method of Kerr
effect. They investigate electric field distribution in both flowing uncharged
and charged oil by flow electrification. From the measurement results, they
quantitatively discuss the electric field distribution and the charge behavior.

Dielectric measurements on cryogenic insulation systems - Trang 225-227
C. Sumereder, J. Gerhold, M. Muhr, R. Woschitz
For the operation of high temperature superconducting (HTS) devices liquid
nitrogen (LN2) is necessary to cool the HTS conductor down to the operating
temperature of about 77 K. Depending on the application in electrical power
systems and high voltage devices, LN2 is also an attractive dielectric liquid.
Some prototypes of cables, power and traction transformers and current limiters
were built, bu... hiện toàn bộ

Theoretical investigation of complex ion formation in liquid dielectrics - Trang 25-28
A.I. Zhakin
Theoretical investigations of -complex ion formation (such as ionic pairs,
triplets, dipole-dipole and ion-dipole clusters) in liquid dielectrics at high
external electric fields are considered. The consideration has been done on the
basis of distribution function method. Rates of ion-ion, ion - ionic pair and
dipole - dipole interactions (recombination and dissociation processes) were
calculated.... hiện toàn bộ

Measurement of accumulation charge density at the silicone-oil/polymer-film interface under DC field by PEA method - Trang 266-269
K. Kadowaki, K. Kuwabara, S. Nishimoto, I. Kitani
Interface charge density in silicone-oil/polymer film composite was measured by
pulsed-electroacoustic (PEA) method. When a film was placed on a positive
electrode, considerable negative charges from a negative electrode were
accumulated on the oil/film interface. When the film was placed on the negative
electrode, positive charges were slightly accumulated. Quantity of the interface
charge was gr... hiện toàn bộ

The electrode-liquid interface under high fields - Trang 91-94
T.J. Lewis
The mechanisms which occur at the interfaces between insulating liquids and
metal electrodes and are significant for the initiation of electrical breakdown
under high fields are considered. These include not only electronic processes
but also hydro-mechanical ones involving the Lippmann effect in which the
electrical fields of the double layers at the electrodes reduce the interfacial
tension and ... hiện toàn bộ

Characteristics of the partial discharge pulse burst in transformer and switchgear oils - Trang 87-90
M. Pompili, C. Mazzetti, R. Bartnikas
A study was carried out on the partial discharge pulse burst behavior in a
mineral oil under AC conditions. The recurrence rate of pulse bursts was found
to increase significantly with voltage above partial discharge inception. This
was accompanied by an increase of both the number of discrete pulses and their
amplitude within the pulse burst itself. These increases were reflected by a
substantial... hiện toàn bộ
