Hai polime phối hợp, [(bpba)Zn(CH3COO)2]n (1) và [(bpba)3Cd2(NO3)4]n·nMeOH·4nH2O (2) (bpba = bis(4-pyridyl)benzylamine), đã được tổng hợp bằng cách sử dụng Zn(CH3COO)2·2H2O/Cd(NO3)2·4H2O và bpba trong một hỗn hợp dung môi, và được định tính thêm. Ion kẽm(II) trong 1 hiển thị hình dạng tứ diện với hai nguyên tử oxy của các ligand acetate và hai nhóm pyridine của các ligand bpba, và nó được liên kết với các ion kẽm(II) láng giềng thông qua các ligand bpba, tạo nên một cấu trúc xoắn một chiều thú vị.
