Wind-PV based Generation with Smart Control Suitable for Grid-isolated Critical Loads in Onshore India
Journal of The Institution of Engineers (India): Series B - Trang 1-11 - 2022
Tóm tắt
Wind and solar energy are widely used as power sources in recent times owing to their abundance in nature. This paper provides an analysis of the prospective of a wind-photovoltaic (PV) hybrid generation scheme in a remote onshore eastern Indian region which is intended to supply a critical health center load. The proposed scheme uses wind generator and PV panels for power generation in hybrid mode. The system loads are controlled automatically using a smart controller based on internet-of-things (IoT) with an innovative closed loop automatic control. The generation system also has ability to endure single-phase faults for the wind generator and converter systems which increases the system consistency as regards power availability. The proposed system can be easily implemented for onshore off-grid areas of coastal India as validated by the simulation results backed by suitable experimental studies on a prototype.
