Chúng tôi điều tra vai trò mong muốn của doanh nghiệp công trong oligopoly hỗn hợp ở các thị trường có tự do gia nhập. Chúng tôi so sánh ba trường hợp sau: (a) một doanh nghiệp công sản xuất trước các doanh nghiệp tư nhân (lãnh đạo công), (b) tất cả các doanh nghiệp sản xuất đồng thời (Cournot), (c) một doanh nghiệp công sản xuất sau các doanh nghiệp tư nhân (lãnh đạo tư). Chúng tôi nhận thấy rằng lãnh đạo tư là tốt nhất và lãnh đạo công là tệ nhất, trái ngược với các trường hợp không có sự gia nhập và rút lui của các doanh nghiệp tư nhân. Chúng tôi cũng điều tra tác động của việc tư nhân hóa đối với phúc lợi. Chúng tôi phát hiện một số kết quả quan trọng được chỉ ra bởi các công trình hiện có không còn đúng trong bối cảnh lãnh đạo tư.
